After DAYS of researching new addons, adapters and dongles this seems to be one of my favorites. Pros: - The magnets on this thing really stick (check out my video). I've been playing around with this thing with the USB-C attached and it's almost identical to APPLE's original MagSafe. What won me over is that it can CHARGE and has an even number of pins so you can use it on BOTH sides instead of just one. Why buy other brands when they don't offer size, load, durability and practicality? TWO DISADVANTAGES: - The magnet MAY loosen over time, but a little glue won't fix anything. (Looks like most aftermarket devices do this) - Difficult to get the USB-C part out of wherever you put it. Not everyone has a rope they carry around so that this thing can be pulled out, or if you have, tape it permanently. It is such that you can easily turn it on and off. All in all, this should be on any Macbook, laptop, or EVERYTHING. Very convenient. [2 WEEKS UPDATE] While I said this is the best magnetic adapter and I think it's a great idea, I don't think it was built the way I initially thought it would be. When you buy it, everything seems fine at first. You've just solved one of Apple's biggest 'problems' and you can use one of your ports on your MacBook to easily place this thing where your old MAGSAFE should have been. The only problem is that it's crumbling. A lot of. Let me explain that for you. The original MAGSAFE on older MacBooks is built into the computer as a FEMALE part (the notch in a MacBook looks like a regular connector) and the charger you buy that has a cable attached is a MALE part. . With the photos I posted above, both parts technically function as MALE parts. are you beginning to understand They're both OUTSIDE the MacBook, so you can disconnect at any time. If you see one with the two disconnected, you'll see the one connected to the MB (or other device) sticking out. This is the main reason for the closure. It snags on the black edge and sometimes doesn't connect with a magnet like the old MS connectors. If the magnet were a bit stronger I think that would make up for the protrusion but as it doesn't four stars. Finally, I'd recommend if you use it at your desk at home, but if you're a daily traveler like me, the standard USB-C charger really isn't that bad. I've gotten used to it already and since I'm babysitting my MB it's not going anywhere.
