Review on 🍡 Goodful Stainless Steel Whistling Tea Kettle for Stovetop - 2.5 Qt Capacity, Cream Speckle by Chris Hall

Looks cool and is surprisingly good quality

I use a whistling kettle for tea and found this kettle worthy of a review. As a reviewer of Revain Vine, I have chosen to order this for free (apart from income tax at the end of the year) and give a comprehensive and unbiased review. This is a relatively new product on the market and has only one review so far. My first impression was that it looks really cool. Clean lines, good spout activation and overall well made. Feels and works reliably. One thing I noticed right away is that there is no visible seam at the bottom like my old kettle with a pressed seam. This seam becomes clogged with dirt in this area and is difficult to clean. The Goodful Kettle has a completely invisible welded and ground seam approximately 1 inch from the bottom. In order to shell the shape there must be a joint as it would be difficult to press on such a repetitive shape. I can tell by the slight profile change in the area just above the paint edge. Inside, the teapot is covered with a kind of gray lacquer that also masks the seam. I'm not sure what its purpose is. My old kettle is bare stainless steel on the inside and slightly stained from the iron in our well water (haha!). The molded and machined faux wood handle feels solid, there is a visible screw on the butt end and presumably one. also at the end of the spout, although this is not visible. The lid has grooves on the rim to fit the teapot snugly. I found it a bit difficult to slip in and out due to the fit, but over time I expect it to loosen up a bit. Anyway, I usually fill the kettle through the spout! The spout works well and since there is a trigger on the handle your fingers are away from the steam unlike my old kettle where the spout opens directly with your finger. It's a very crisp clicky open and close action with a trigger at the bottom and a button at the top. The whistle is high pitched and audible (see video) but not too annoying for my daughter who hates the loud whistle of an old kettle! I boiled a full kettle of water and did it twice to free the kettle for use. I noticed that the handle got quite warm. The instructions state that the handle will get hot and it is recommended that you use an oven mitt or gloves. I measured the surface temperature of the handle at around 98Β°F after three boils. Keeping warm isn't a problem, at least for me. Your hot tap water is probably around 125F for reference. Time will tell how durable this kettle is and I'll update the review if anything happens. My old kettle is 4 years old and still works although the spout lid is no longer spring loaded and requires an oven mitt to open. Overall I really like this kettle. It is well made, has a nice design, an unusual looking grip and a nice whistle. I think 30€ is a fair price for what is offered. I think my old one cost €15.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
