I am using the embossed part, small round discs, for an art project. I use paper of different weights, such as card stock, watercolor paper, and colored paper. I only punch through one layer of paper at a time. The biggest puncher can't make a clean cut. It leaves a torn edge 9 times out of 10. It's almost impossible to use as it's very difficult to squeeze through the paper. I mean, it really takes a lot of effort and muscle power! The medium size makes clean cuts most of the time, but I've found it often stays in the striking position until I open it up again with both hands to strike again. It slows me down and annoys me, but at least the shot has sharp edges. The smallest is perfection. He delivers a clean punch and comes back smooth and fast to strike again! So. It's hit and miss with 2 big hits, you may or may not get a clean disc/hole. The little punch is amazing.
