It's very good for the price.

So far so good with my setup. I'm covering parts of my van with a high roof before we insulate it. Some notice an unpleasant odor. My backpack smelled faintly of asphalt. It's not bad at all, and only marginally inferior to Dynamat or SecondSkin. How well does it work? None of these products are designed to block sound. They are designed to dampen vibrations. This is done at the expense of elasticity and mass. Also how quickly the material reacts to impacts. This product, like many others, is a butyl material. Butyl is used because it is affordable and generally has good cushioning properties. The actual coverage required is debatable. 100% coverage is not required for noticeable positive results. Mechanically, depending on the moisturizing product, only 20% opacity is required in some cases. This material will likely require much more coverage due to the lack of mass per cubic inch. Weight - This product is not 80 mil. And compared to similar materials, it is not that heavy. Application - went very well. Can not complain. Cushioning - In my van, we noticed a positive difference immediately after applying three coats of product. I think it's good for the price. If you really want to reduce noise and vibration, combine these butyl products with Thinsulate.
