Works well for 1 dollar. The grip is a bit short and a bit flimsy when trying to dig under a really deep layer of heavy debris. You have to be careful not to scoop too much at once, otherwise your handle will break off. (I made that mistake once.) The slots are also a bit large, which can make it difficult to get small items out of the box. I'm trying to use the edges where the slots are a bit smaller for these pieces, but it's not the easiest thing. I used Precious Cat Ultra Premium clumping litter. It's a little pricey but works really well and if I clean the box every day I can go almost a month without putty before having to replace it. When you add in the extended lifespan and improved smell, it's definitely worth the extra money!
