Review on 🚰 Aquasana 3 Stage Chrome Water Filter System: Ultimate Filtration for Pure, Refreshing Water by Donotello Figueroa

Good filtration system - under sink and countertop filtration

I've had this water filtration system for a year now since I switched from a dual filtration system. It was fairly easy to install and has good plumbing details. The instructions are clear and anyone with even the slightest knowledge of installation should be able to install this. The water quality is very good and significantly better than in the old system. I received an order for a replacement filter set with a broken filter that would not let water through - Aquasana replaced the broken filter free of charge and with minimal hassle. Cons 1) They only give you 3ft of each plumbing pipe and it actually has to be at least 4ft in order for you to place it anywhere under the sink - 3ft limits your placement options (wall mounting likely eliminates this problem). 2) The "alarm" in the system will go off every 6 months whether you're consuming 100 gallons or 800 gallons, so just evaluate usage, mark it on your calendar and ignore the alarm to avoid unnecessary purchases. 3) While they say you don't use tools to unscrew pans to change filters, few have the hand strength required. Just using a small strap wrench (available at any hardware store) to hold one part while turning the other with the included plastic wrench will give you the leverage you need without damaging anything. 4) Occasional slow leakage from a sump when changing filters, possibly due to deformed o-rings. I put this sump in a cup and the leak stops within a few days. Keeping spare o-rings on hand will likely prevent such problems entirely - remove them from old filters and keep them for that purpose, or sell them at the hardware store as well. In general the system is good, I would buy more. March 2021.

Pros
  • Economical and durable - The most economical filter on the market at less than 10 cents per gallon filtered. Lasts 6 months or 800 gallons before the need for a filter change.
Cons
  • Fading
