Review on Topping ES9038Q2M OPA2134 Amplifier Decoder by Michael Floyd

The D10S is a simple device: plug in USB, plug in line-level cable, done. I hooked up this DAC to an old Marantz 2230B and it sounds great except for one thing - the circuit board inside seems to have detached itself from the case so the whole box (mechanically) resonates at higher volumes. BZZZZ, BZZZZ, BZZZZ. I plan on returning this unit, will update when a new one arrives. Other than that, no complaints about the sound, it sounds better than anything I've tried before (which wasn't anything special); it is worth the asking price. Note that all DACs have their own "sound signature", but this usually has more to do with the analog circuitry on the board than the DAC chip itself. This sounds great and it will be a long time before I'm forced to revisit to update.
