Review on Light Filtering Honeycomb Shades, Cellular Honeycomb Blinds, Top Down Honeycomb Blinds, Top Down Bottom Up Honeycomb Blinds by Amy Smith

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Dimmable and perfect for privacy, although some quality details are missing.

Exactly what I was looking for! They can be mounted very unobtrusively, without covering or the like. You should be able/willing to drill the windowsill and window opening in general (which I knew and was perfectly fine with). These are great blackout shades and the ability to open the top to let in light while maintaining privacy underneath is invaluable. The reason I gave them 4 stars was because a guide clip was broken upon arrival and there were no extras. To install clamps, drywall anchors must be provided, especially in the US market. You can't get them in a hardware store for the screw size supplied. I used #8 anchors and screws. They were closest in thickness to the supplied screws. More detailed installation instructions would also be helpful. I had to install 6 of these so I was experienced by the end but struggled with the first 2-3 because they were hanging unevenly. If anyone has the same problem: if they are uneven, tighten the tape on the higher side of the blinds. . Or, if it's already too tight (too much tension needed), loosen the tie at the bottom. Yes, it sounds illogical, but this is how they are installed, crosswise. Also, one of my blinds had the blinds "paper" pulled out of the top rail. I secured it with tape but that should be found at quality control. Overall I am happy with my purchase and would buy them again but would be better prepared (screws and dowels already purchased etc.).

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
