Hot-dip galvanized nails are the nails of choice for fiber cement siding. They last longer than standard galvanized nails. These hot dip galvanized nails have a plastic pick and you will need a special nail gun to push the plastic pick out of the gun. Don't buy these nails if your gun isn't equipped for plastic nails! In addition to the compatible guns listed at amazon.com/toolcrib, these nails will also work with the Porter Cable Coil200. (Porter Cable recommends using no more than 2" nails for the Coil200 reel, although the gun itself can be loaded with 2 3/8" nails if you wish to ignore the warranty.)
