My son has fine motor skills problems. He is also tall and thin. His kindergarten didn't need belts, but he couldn't hold up his pants! We tried the magnetic tape first, but he didn't have enough arm strength to pull both sides of the tape together. I started looking for a new belt, this time with velcro, and stopped here because it has trains. Did I mention he's a huge train fan? To be honest I didn't even know the best part of this belt until it came out. You fasten one side of the belt around the belt loop so that side always stays in place. As a result, my son only had to grab one side of the belt to buckle it.
