I only bought this because of my renewed interest in biology and I could afford it. I spent a whole weekend looking at the water I got from the local lake and my brain just exploded. I am a hobby photographer and amateur astronomer. I need high quality optics. And it delivers. I wasn't prepared for how good it would be. I mainly use 4/0.1 and 10/0.25 lenses with a 10x eyepiece and detail and clarity is sharp, detailed and exceeds my expectations. If you get into a 40/0.65 and 100/1.25 lens, it's out of the range of an acceptable image. But I'm a beginner and there might be something I don't understand but I'm looking forward to learning. The processing quality is very good. It appears that with proper care it will last for years. If you're wondering if this really is the right scope, all I can say is that it's for me. I'm very picky about quality like most people. I want my money worth getting this microscope shipped to me. I am very comfortable.
