I had good experience with trendnet products before. Not just Realtek drivers from the manufacturer. The site is difficult to set up - they weren't digitally signed, which I think is partly Realtek's fault - but bugged enough to the point that it's unusable. The general MS version (no signature problems) is also not completely reliable. The ethernet connection seems to work fine for 4-48 hours and then drops, usually in the middle of something important, whether it's "tight" or not. Checking the Event Viewer didn't reveal anything. Depending on the driver selection, it then disappears from the ncpa.cpl window and requires a reboot to use the connection again. By the way, the version of my adapter is H/W 2.0R. I have an ASIX based gigabit adapter that has never given me such a frustrating experience. In the end I gave up the LAN functionality and decided to skip it and just use a USB 3.0 hub which was just as unreliable and would fail when copying files. etc. What a waste of time!
