Unsafe and Unhygienic Prodyne Cheese Slicer

Don't Buy This Prodyne Cheese Slicer! Made cheap. I actually had to use mine twice and then it broke. A beech cutting board is great, but have a knife or cheese knife ready when using this item. The cutting wire is placed on a metal guide with a plastic handle. This handle is attached with a screw that cannot be tightened. Doing so could detach the wire and cause the handle to pop out and injure someone. The wire slips out of the groove. The screw holding the wire doesn't go into the plastic, it just keeps turning so you can't tighten the knob. Also, the hinge section wire is twisted to secure it, but the twist is so long that not only the wire but the twisted portion of the wire will cut into your cheese and be impossible to clean. This makes the product not only unsafe but also unhygienic. You can see the details in the photo; a screw that doesn't tighten, twisted wire with cheese in it. My last cheese slicer is very similar to this one, but another brand has served me well for over twenty years.
