I love this thing! This makes slicing the cheese much easier. I have a pretty good knife that I use to cut the cheese. But there is no comparison with this cheese slicer. It looked pretty cool when I checked before ordering. Having used it for about 3 weeks, I cannot recommend it for slicing cheese (despite rave reviews from soap makers). You need to line up the wire with the slot - ok, no problem. Don't Buy This Prodyne Cheese Slicer! Made cheap. I actually had to use mine twice and then it broke. A beech cutting board is great, but have a knife or cheese knife ready when using this item. The cutting wire is placed on a metal guide with a plastic handle. This handle is attached with a screw that cannot be tightened.
