This tailgate handle for my Ford Ranger is a perfect match for the original all metal. On the other hand, the original 14 years of use since my 2005 truck has fallen away. So I think everything will be ok. It was harder to install than I thought it would be, but it's not. the handle is to blame, but the thoughtful installation of the tailgate. It doesn't come with instructions so I had to watch videos online and it took me a while to figure out where the little buffer plate went when the original fell into the driveway while I was pulling it out of the bed. If not, you will need a Torx T30 screwdriver to remove and reinstall the access panel and a 10mm deep socket to remove and reinstall the nuts that hold the handle in place. DON'T LOSE TNATS WHILE THE NEW HABDLE DIES, DON'T COME WITH THE NEW HABDLE!
