This lower ball joint is very well made and represents excellent value for an old car. If you are buying this for a Honda you MUST remove the wire retaining clip holding the rubber boot in place and then remove the boot (it comes off easily). Due to Honda's lower control arm design, if you leave the rubber boot tightened during installation, the boot will tear, resulting in premature ball joint failure. After removing the boot, press down on the ball joint and apply a small amount of additional grease to the boot, then put it back on and reinstall the snap ring. Be careful - watch out for the ends of the locking ring so they don't cut into the boot. If you take your time you will have no problem.
