You are replacing the heavier of the two springs on your distributor with one of the lighter springs in this kit. Now reassemble the distributor and wow - all your mechanical synchro's are at 2400rpm. This is truly a stunning performance upgrade for your 60's or 70's car. I have a '69 Chrysler with a 440 engine and it behaves very well and is quiet for just cruising around town. But if I press his leg, he turns into a snarling beast! A really great and simple product that will revolutionize your car. This was my experience.
