Review on πŸ’¨ Fast and Reliable Transcend 32GB SATA III 6GB/S MTS400S M.2 SSD 400S Solid State Drive by Troy Larson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Has been running in my FreeNAS for over 4 months now

So far these little drives have been rock solid. Much faster than the USB sticks I've used before. I "mirrored" them like USB drives. I can't say anything bad about them yet. My understanding is that the duty cycle of the FreeNAS startup disk is quite low since the filesystem is loaded into memory at boot time. So the discs are just written for the magazines and don't quote me but I think it just happens once a day or multiple times a day. Anyhow, I'm not sure if it would be good in a more classic scenario like booting into Windows or Linux with lots of reads and writes, but so far they've been fast and reliable for my use. The drives are installed on "StarTech.com 2x M.2 SATA SSD" and work great. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017IM54GM As Forrest Gump said, "Jenny, they go together like peas and carrots." :D

Cons
  • Makes me angry
