The blade that comes with most new 18V saws has what Makita calls an ultra fine cut blade, model A-85092. This helps the batteries last longer by removing the thinner strip of wood. The replacement A-85092 is much more expensive than this T-01404, so I ordered the cheaper one. When it arrived I measured the width of both blades with a cheap micrometer. The used A-85092 blade was 4.5 hundredths of an inch, and the new T-01404 blade (with some sort of thick protective clear coat) was 5 hundredths of an inch. I believe that the cutting width of both blades is functionally the same.
