Review on GearWrench 3680 Ratcheting Wrench Serpentine by Ronnie Polk

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Almost perfect: key

For the most part, this set is great. It has pretty much everything you need to remove and install a sickle strap. The angles this two-piece wrench allows eliminates the need for many vehicle specific sickle belt tools. For example for some Honda, Mini and some others. This set pretty much covers everything. The case is strong, beautiful and securely holds everything you need. I have several issues with the design of the tool. The sockets do not fit the ratchet very tightly. So when you're working in tight quarters and fumbling around to get the tool in place, the socket tends to fall to the ground or worse, fall into the engine bay abyss. This is very annoying. This is really only a problem in tight spaces. Because the tool consists of two pieces attached together (or side-by-side), this tool is not as flat as a one-piece band tool. Therefore, you may still need to use a one-piece band tool if space is very limited. Finally, the ratchet is not reversible. So if you turn the tensioner the wrong way first, you'll have to pull it back out, turn the ratchet, and put the bushing on the other side. Obviously, this is not a violation of the terms and conditions, just a small minus. Anyway, these few problems shouldn't stop you from purchasing this invaluable tool. I use tools for work throughout the day so I can be more critical of them than you are. Great there should be a tool but sometimes you may need a long one piece tool.
