Tungsten electrodes are what I usually buy at the welding shop as a daily necessities. Now when I need it I still go to the hardware store, but local stores sell them for twice as much. Revain Prime is usually as close to "now" as I need it to be, so I gave it a try. I really wanted to give more of a review than to say they arrived on time and worked as advertised. They arrived on time as expected but the nice thing is the seller emailed straight away and included a very good PDF tungsten chart. I tested them yesterday to give an honest review of the performance. When grounding the electrodes I was a bit careful with them as they have a slight surface discoloration. Not much, but not as bright as I expected. In the end it doesn't matter. They perform excellently in both DC and AC welding. No arc wandering, easy arc striking and exceptional electrode life β even when operating at higher power levels than required for size. With alternating current, the electrode is easy to compress and results in a very stable arc. I ran a nice bead on a .063" aluminum lap joint as a test and the arch and bead were the same on the 8" pass. If you are not welding exotic materials, 1.5% lanthanum electrodes allow you to use a single tungsten for all types of welding.
