Review on πŸ”§ CRAFTSMAN Portable Shop Vacuum CMXEVBE17250 - 2.5 Gallon, 1.75 Peak HP Wet/Dry Vac with Attachments by Seth Hogate

Revainrating 5 out of 5

So I'm very glad I made this purchase!

I received and tested it a few days ago but I can't say it has stood the test of time. I'm so happy I finally got it! I resisted it because we have a 5 gallon Pro version and I just had a hard time justifying getting another vacuum. But every time I've had to lug a big one out of the garage and have to maneuver it (including protruding wheels and a big stiff hose) into and through smaller interior spaces like the bathroom, I've been so disappointed. And you can imagine that when I need to vacuum water off the floor I'm probably already frustrated and really not ready to mess with a big giant machine when I just need something small. This little car is perfect! I ordered 2 rigid extension tubes separately and am glad I did, they will be easier on my back. I chose this vacuum in part because it has a 5 inch hose while most other brands only have a 4 inch hose. The extra length is ideal for 4ft rigid extensions. Also the 10ft electric cord is again longer than other brands. This motor has lower peak power than some of the other models, but it passed the tests I ran very well. . It is small and designed for small lift jobs and the engine is ideal for such work. Additional note... I have found that the hose can be rolled up and stored in the tub, fits perfectly and is very handy. I've seen some reviews complaining about hose stiffness but I disagree, maybe they heard the issue and fixed it? I've also seen complaints about the hose not staying in the car, again not my experience. It is designed to snap on and is removed with a twist and pull. Both surgeries went smoothly for me. Perhaps you have reacted to criticism from the past here as well? The little holders that hold the attachments on board are simple and functional, not tight or too loose, easy to insert, and secure enough to carry around. Anyhow, I'm so glad I have this little vacuum cleaner that I can carry with one hand, even when full of water, in tight spaces. It's a relief to know that the next little tide won't force me to fight the big car again. It does not take up much space, so it is convenient to keep it in the house without panicking in the garage at the next flood.
