So I got this gasket because my wafer thin gasket ruptured which ended up causing me a lot of terrible problems. He was on his way out when I heard a hiss, but at the time I didn't know where it was coming from. On Friday after I left work I tried to start my truck but it was idling. So I had to open the hood to increase the idle/idle mixture to even get it to idle. So I knew it was a pad when I got home and felt it sucking my finger on my sides. UPDATE/EDIT: Do not attempt to remove the gasket. It becomes sticky and stays for life. When removing the seal is destroyed. I don't know if this is covered under warranty, but as it isn't mentioned, don't try to remove it. This creates good pressure. It sticks to the base of the carburetor. I ordered this pad without knowing the thickness (I bought it for the shape and it fits best) and I read that it's thicker. When I installed it. I turned and BAM! My vacuum level got higher on lean idle and it worked great! 1984 Ford Ranger 2.8L V6.
