I don't often write reviews, but I couldn't ignore this problem. These filters have a serious design problem. I'm not a plumber, but I've had a convection gas oven in my home for over 30 years. In that time it has been replaced twice due to normal wear and tear in a slightly damp basement. These filters are too thick and pleated, causing my stove to take longer to heat my house due to restricted airflow. FYI I use 3 of these filters for my system. A filter is located in the usual location in the basement at the end of the air return duct to prevent debris from clogging the fan and dust and dog hair from re-entering the living quarters through the ducts. It can also build up in the ducts, resulting in reduced airflow, increased oven and fan operation. In this case, you need to call in a professional and clean all the pipes - an expensive and avoidable situation. The other two filters I install aren't usually needed, but it's been proven over the years with dogs to get a lot of debris sucked through the tube. Air return tubes and premature clogging of the basement filter. This also causes more dirt to accumulate in the return pipes. My solution, which works great by the way, is to place a filter on top of the grate for both exhaust air ducts in the living area. Here's the problem: I just installed these filters today. (10/19/21) and noticed that I have poor airflow through my system. I thought my memory of the past few years might be wrong. But later today something told me to check the filters above. Something was wrong with my oven turning on and off. I lifted a filter on one of the air ducts while the fan was running below and was immediately alarmed that I had to use force to lift the filter. The vacuum was created in the tube by impeding the flow of air. This is because the filter was restricting the flow of air into the return. These filters are TOO THICK and not porous enough to allow adequate airflow through my system. They tax the fan and run the stove longer to heat my house, which also uses more gas. This extra heat is conducted up through the chimney as I have an automatic damper that stays open to the chimney while the flame is burning. You might not use two additional filters on the return, but I still know that it doesn't create those filters. for work. They also have a paper mesh that further reduces airflow. I let the reviews convince me that this is a good filter. I have a feeling many of you are not noticing the decrease in airflow. A quick and messy way to test this would be to attach some light strips of toilet paper, crepe paper, duct tape, etc. to two air vents. Watch the streamers move while the fan is running and note what you see. Then replace the filter with an inexpensive alternative. Then you should see more streamer swell and maybe you can feel more airflow out of the vents with your hand (like I did). them and replace them with the filters I used before. This is what I get because I'm too lazy to go to my regular store to pick them up. Eventually, Revain was in the news because he had to crack down on fake reviews. I'm talking about the thousands and thousands of fake reviews posted by bots to boost some sellers and demote others. You can search the internet for this issue and you will find reports in the news. Hope I helped you all.
