Review on πŸ“± Bluetooth Kit for BMW and Mini Cooper: Android iPhone iPod Integration Music Interface Adaptor with USB AUX Connector for Car by Michael Rasberry

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Easy to use but not impressive sound (EDIT: acceptable sound)

I bought this to use in a 2009 Mini Cooper (R56). There were no instructions included, but they weren't necessary either. Pros: I connected to the AUX/USB interface and Bluetooth pairing with my iPhone X was easy. From there I switched the car stereo to an AUX input and was able to stream music through my car's speakers. Woo hoo! Cons: I did notice, however, that the sound level at this volume setting does not match that of the other inputs. For example, if I set the radio volume to Comfort and switch to AUX, the volume is too low. The sound quality also lacks depth - almost like editing or using a low-quality streaming codec. Oddly enough, when I go into the car horn settings to adjust the volume of the 'gong' (warning bell), the streaming volume increases momentarily and the overall sound quality improves, despite playing in the background of the bell. In general it works. and I am pleased with the streaming capability that this product offers. EDIT: The volume issue was between the steering wheel and driver's seat (meaning me!). My R56 has a setting to adjust "AUX-Vol" which seems to attenuate the signal. When I set it to the maximum level (5), the streaming sound quality got much better. Got 4 stars for a great solution to my situation.

  • It's amazing
Cons
