Carpet no longer slips

I bought two inexpensive living room rugs: 3 x 5 for the hallway and 9 x 6 for the living room. The larger one has furniture legs on one side and doesn't move, so that's good. The one at the entrance slipped when stepped on from either side. This little pad keeps him from moving at all. I just had to trim the edge a little. I also put one under a large area rug to add some softness and protect the laminate floor. And despite some other reviews, it didn't smell at all after taking it out of the box for 30 minutes.
