Review on Tusk 4333087132 Bearing Remover by Carlos Deuschle

Do the impossible.

Availability Removing stuck bearings from 1970's motorcycle wheels is impossible without the right tools. Fortunately, this is the right tool. I used the largest collet for the yoke bearing and one of the smaller sizes for the remaining three bearings. Getting 8 different jackhammer collets for the price I paid was amazing as it eliminated any sizing guessing and potential delays. A well made injection molded plastic case is good for holding a set of pullers and keeping everything in one place. The bearings I had to remove had been in service for over thirty years, and because of the constant heating and cooling and corrosion of the bearing's outer ring, they weren't going to pop out easily. I looked around the wheels for a bit and decided that the idea of making them skid was as stupid as it sounds now as I type this. It would ruin the wheels and bearings and definitely my attitude. So I was looking for bearing removal tools on youtube and after about thirty minutes I came across a video of a tusk bearing puller. Twenty minutes later I ordered one. I went back to the shop, sprayed the bearings with penetrating grease and cleaned them. Three days later the guy from UPS showed up and I went into the shop and another twenty minutes later I had 5 old worn out bearings on my desk at the shop and the wheels were ready to be plugged in and sandblasted. Now if you are repacking bearings I would just pack them in place and lay them down for the day as pretty much any bearing removal method is likely to damage the bearing and shorten its life. Yes, even a Tusk bearing puller puts a lot of force on the inner surface of the bearing, so it's not supposed to do anything other than replace. But. If you are looking to replace bearings then this is the tool you need. It's definitely a well-made tool with an extremely functional body at a price that beats the retail cost on second use. A. And if you have some friends that need to pull bearings, you can do it for free and be almost as cool as the Tusk bearing puller tool.
