I bought it to use in the kayak because it wasn't included. During installation, a small plastic plug on the connector broke off, although I hardly touched it. After installation, I realized that this is not tightness. When you put it in your mouth and blow in, the air goes right past the body and the plug because there's no seal. You definitely wouldn't want to use this on a boat below the waterline. Since the bracket broke off, I had to run to the hardware store and buy a small hook, chain, and key ring instead. I'm in now, but I definitely wouldn't buy it again. It all feels cheap and fragile and doesn't seal.
