Review on πŸ–¨οΈ RFPLBXUS00F PLA Refill Black by XYZprinting by Brett Islam

Breaking and sticking issues and overpriced

I bought this to replace my original blue PLA roll that came with my XYZWare printer as I wasn't interested in figuring out how to mount other types of filament. I thought buying this spool would save me a lot of work, but their chip is only compatible with some XYZWare printers and mine didn't fit. Basically, it's just DRM that you should bypass as soon as possible. Thanks to XYZWare for using the OpenFilament standards, so it's actually easy to use other threads once you've updated the firmware correctly and gotten XYZSuite. That's good because this particular thread has been giving me insane problems. It would break at the feed point, so I would have to unload, remove 0.5m of already used filament from the feed tube and re-insert. I've had to do this dozens of times, and most likely I was preparing to assemble it with a printer, only to find that the filament itself broke for some reason. It also came loose and curled at the corners on prints larger than a few inches, while my new filament almost never had this problem. One thing that really made buying this thread worthwhile is that it's day green. makes it shimmer under UV light, which is great for making rave candy. That's all I'll get back to the last remnants of the thread for. If you're buying this for the filament chips on the spool, just do yourself a favor and print an external spool holder and spend the same money. You would spend here (maybe even $5 less) for a third party 1kg filament spool.
