Compatibility is stated on the box but the printer will still ask for a toner replacement when installed. Since I had great confidence in this product from the previous model, I bought two boxes at once. None of the replacement black toners work. The only difference I see is that the toner sensor on the Brother machine floats and makes a distinct click when seated. This modular sensor, EZink, is rigid and does not float. He doesn't snap.
