I was afraid they would be too fragile and not give me strength when booting up. I was pleasantly surprised that they hold my foot (size 10.5) really well. If you're cruising around town and need to put your toe braces on and off a lot, this is great. 6/2016 Edit: still strong, still 5 stars. I just ordered another pair for another bike I have. The other day someone was driving in front of me and I had to hit the brakes hard to stop FAST. They had my feet caught immediately before eating the sidewalk. Any other clip system and I would have fallen.
