D-Link DIR-632 N Series 8-Port Wireless Router

I bought the DIR-632 after reading dozens of reviews and personal testimonials on Amazon, cnet and others. It was the best road compromise I've personally explored. It has a long range; So far I'm getting 98% signal in the farthest corners of my house, 40-50 feet from the router and up one floor. It drops to 75% to get through 3 walls but still has very good connection/transfer speeds. It was very easy to set up (although the instructions aren't clear, you do NOT need an internet connection to install if you choose to install manually), although the instructions read as if you need an internet connection to install. I recommend this for any application (video/music streaming, web browsing, online apps, etc.). My only caveat is the comments posted by others, even at Wireless N speeds there can be some lag when playing online games. I have integrated Wireless G and Wireless N on both laptops and recently added a Wireless N RNX-N180UBE adapter to my desktop device for wireless. connection there. The Wireless N USB Adapter gave me 130 Mbps download speed and 65 Mbps upload speed at 50 feet through 2 walls. I'm happy with the improvement over my dial-up connection, but it's still not a T-1 connection. In my situation, I don't see the problem in the router, but in the WLAN cards in laptops. I could spend another 50-100 on a router and the same amount on a USB adapter for a slight improvement. Overall, for most home uses (except gaming), I recommend this N D-Link wireless router.
