Review on 💧 Pentek R50 BB Pleated Polyester Cartridge: High-Performance Filtration for Superior Water Quality by Todd Phillips

UPDATE November 20, 2018: I removed this filter on November 7, 2018 11 July 2016) THIS IS AN EXCELLENT FILTER! Turns out I had removed this filter for no good reason, our kitchen faucet was running slow and I just assumed the filter was clogged. nope! Replaced the filter and the faucet is still slow. I turn on the faucet and there is garbage. (Of course, now the question is where did the garbage come from since the filter was still intact.) Anyway, I'm going to buy these Pentair filters now. They have more wrinkles and I still don't know how long they will last in my situation, but we do know that they have "survived" about 800 days, at least two city water flush intervals that usually stir up sediment in my pipes. , and clog the filter. ORIGINAL WRITTEN 11 July 2016: This review is based solely on my personal construction observations. I don't think homeowners like me can really accurately measure performance without a lab. My filter of choice for now, as long as it doesn't fail in less than a year (let's say before July 2017) and then I'll let you know. I bought them at the same time as DuPont's HDC3001 universal pleated resin cartridge for the whole house. The Dupont filter is ok, but certainly not better in design. Ironically, if you look at the photos provided by the manufacturers, it looks like the Dupont filter has more wrinkles and the Pentair doesn't show the seal I found on mine. See my attached photo. Why do I prefer this filter? - Inexpensive, almost as cheap as a Dupont filter. - More pleats and more filter material. It has 78 1 1/2 inch deep pleats, far more than the Dupont (and Whirlpool WHKF-WHPLBB) sediment filters (48 and 40 respectively). The ends of the filter are stronger. The flanges that hold the filter paper are much deeper and Pentair includes black gaskets on both ends in addition to the hard plastic that Dupont and Whirlpool don't have. with sediment shaking from the pipes up the hill from my house. It's made in Mexico, which I prefer to the Chinese. but they are standardized.
