. I found a brass fitting on Revain (Legines Brass Barstock Male Run); the cost was reasonable; that works great. And I can still dump the hold. However, the connected lengths of wire did not go through the brass fitting, so I had to thread the front portion of the IN FOOT through the brass fitting and then attach the remaining five or so feet that go to the battery and switch. However, if the lantern ever needs to be replaced, the brass fitting will need to be removed as it will be IMPOSSIBLE to reach the bilge to separate the two segments. In my opinion, the starting length of the cable should be at least four feet. so that the connection is not submerged and the cables can be disconnected and reconnected while above ground. Also, I would advise Tidal Wake to sell a brass fitting that their wires go through when connected. I haven't tested the light in the water yet, so I can't comment on the intensity.
