I like the fact that it feels sturdy. However, when running on a 12 volt system, this light is not very bright. I would recommend looking for another brand because that's what I'm doing now.

Before installing the Tidal Wake drain plug I was concerned about its brightness after reading some reviews. I am very satisfied and have noticed that it is about the transparency of the water. Unless your water is clear to 3 feet, nothing will get through that mud. If you can't see your prop in daylight, forget this product.

This is one of the coolest upgrades I've made to my boat! I uploaded some photos. You speak for yourself. Easy installation, comes with a built-in fuse, you need a switch. When I installed it, my girlfriend held a running water hose to a lightbulb so it wouldn't burn out while testing. Very well made, durable product. A great option if you don't want to pierce through the body for a "zombie light" :)

It is quite heavy and looks well made. I wish it was about twice as bright. I also wish the braid that comes out of the device was longer. The overall length of the cable is ok. Simply move the connector away from the drain plug. At the moment the connection is too close to standing water in the bilge. Just lengthen the pigtail and make the wire shorter. No change in production costs.

After looking at the high prices of other proven LED lighting options that can be installed on my boat, I was a bit skeptical about how well this could work, especially considering the ease of installation and that my downforce is very close to the drain plug on my particular boat. I am incredibly happy with the light output and the look of the lamp and the product seems very well made! Hopefully I don't have any longevity issues, but no post-season issues so far!

This drain plug was packaged very well and looks and feels like a quality product. I installed this LED drain plug on a 2000 Cobalt 293 using the included wiring harness. This boat has two engines so the light is a bit focused but the brightness exceeded my expectations. I mounted this dive light on a 30ft boat. The lantern is installed approximately 38 inches below the waterline in the drain plug. . I found a brass fitting on Revain (Legines Brass Barstock Male Run); the cost was reasonable; that works great. And I can still dump the hold. However, the connected lengths of wire did not go through the brass fitting, so I had to thread the front portion of the IN FOOT through the brass fitting and then attach the remaining five or so feet that go to the battery and switch.
