I USE BLEACH ON THIS CARPET. EVERYONE. . TIME.

Great, great rug. There are no other words for that. You see all these expensive, fancy branded rugs (although Safaviye is a brand name - it's an exception), hundreds of rugs if you want a larger size. They are beautiful but personally I wanted the rug to be SOFT, CUSHIONED, COMFORTABLE and almost look spectacular. It was cheap, affordable and the quality didn't match the price. With carpets. Choose two: comfortable, inexpensive, beautiful. Well this rug has all 3. Quality is another bonus that most rugs don't have. No, I'm not just talking about the high, lush pile and thick cushion underfoot that he has. I'm specifically talking about how much damage (READ: feces, vomit, curry, spaghetti stains, nail polish, working with boys under 3) a rug can do. Mind you, I didn't pour the bleach straight up, but you shouldn't be doing that anyway. Always dilute with water. I took a picture of the chlorox bottle I use. It works like a charm and lifts everything. For people who don't have kids or dogs, you might not care. But for those of us who do, the worst part about buying a rug this elegant is the maintenance. Is it easy to care for him? Will it be easy to clean and remove dust, allergens and other food debris stuck in the fibers? Does the shag stay high and super soft on your feet even after a long day at work? Does it prevent stains and discolor or tarnish? Yes. I bought this rug for one reason: I have toddlers and my youngest was learning to crawl at the time. My kneecaps were practically worn out from all the hardwood crawling. So my crawling/rolling toddler kept falling on hardwood and I decided to buy a mat. Ordinary carpets were not soft enough. This Safawi rug cushioned all his falls and he expected to cry and bang his head on the rug as he fell. Instead he said nothing, eyes wide open. Shocked that the mat doesn't let him feel anything when he's dropped. I am not suprised. The carpet has a very high pile and THICK fibers. No joke. It's more comfortable than my sofa. I photographed the pile after having it for almost a year. I had a nice rug from Ikea with a fairly high pile. However, over time it became so thin. The fibers are worn out. The fibers of Safavieh carpets are still very thick. Because? It may be the best fiber quality, but the carpet seems to have MORE fibers (yarn) throughout. That's why he's so PLUSHY and FAT. Every 5 inch rug contains more fibers than other shaggy rugs. Typically, a carpet with more fibers will cost more. But this rug comes at a surprisingly good price. It feels like it's too good to be true. ********** My said cute baby also managed to step over my nail polish and dumped an entire bottle on the carpet. I feverishly poured the acetone on the carpet, risking ruining it forever. The paint has fallen off and even up close nobody can tell that something has spilled. Second best is like I said how I bleach and bleach, and I've accidentally and intentionally poured just about every chemical you can think of into this shag. This rug is in PERFECT CONDITION as it was when I first received it. Carpets tend to wear out over time. Not this carpet. NOT A SINGLE SITE. (Look at the pictures) That's called quality. I know that carpets are hard to find because they are usually expensive and very important due to allergies, children, pets and quality and not easy to replace as they affect all your rooms. Decor. But... this rug is worth it. If you're on the fence about it. Just order. The quality is not to be commended. Believe me.
