Review on Enhanced Shimano Acera MTB Rear Derailleur for Optimal Performance by Matthew Carr

My old Deore XT was too long in the teeth and I was getting chain slippage on my 11T cog with the slightest bit of gear wear. (The old XT version predates my fairly new 8 speed cluster and was designed for 6.) The Deore XT equivalent is too expensive for me these days so I bought this one. To my relief, it easily screwed onto the frame and fitted together perfectly. (Of course, the stop bolts had to be adjusted.) I found that the chain was more under and over the small 11T sprocket and the skipping stopped. I also like that it shifts more easily when effort is required. (I use old vintage Shimano thumbless levers.) I would also like to point out that this silver version is currently half the price of the black one. I like this silver version as it has black where needed. (This version is painted black in the dirtiest area.) I've only had one ride, but so far I'm very happy with it.
