Brand new Garmin Forerunner 35, Forerunner beginner/intermediate

I've been looking for a beginner/intermediate running GPS watch for about 7 months. I have tried and tested the following watches: Forerunner 735XT, Fenix 3 HR, Apple Watch Series 1, Vivoactive HR and even Polar M400. As a runner/intermediate, I really thought I needed all those "enhanced running speakers" that the Fenix 3 and FR735XT had, but I found that I absolutely didn't need them. The FR735XT seemed very cheap at $449, I would highly recommend it to any serious triathlete but no one else. The Fenix 3 HR is a monster. Looks good but for the price it doesn't fit into a button cuff shirt. I had so many things that I would never need or even need. If you're a nature lover who needs to go back to god knows where in breadcrumbs, then this is your watch. Also HR was the worst I tested. Apple Watch S1, well that was a joke, no serious runner should ever run with one let alone buy one. (From the big Apple seller since 2001) The Apple Watch 2 looks promising, but the battery drains quickly. Garmin Vivoactive HR probably the best GPS watch I've tested, great touchscreen, accurate heart rate, good fitness tracker, normal display, multisport on kazoo but the running program was very blurry, no virtual pacer, no intervals, walking/ start alarm buzzing only, there was no audible alarm, Glonas/GPS was a good option, the touchscreen was unresponsive on strenuous hikes. The Vivoactive HR was pretty ugly too, probably the ugliest of them all except for the Polar M400. The Garmin Forerunner 35 is the Forerunner you've been waiting for, forget spending $329 on a FR235 with HR, it does almost everything the 235 does and has the best screen for the night and around the house. main differences. FR35 has a virtual pace that compares the current pace to the target, FR235 has a V02 max, a recovery advisor (I can tell myself when I'm ready for the next run) and a race prediction (I can mathematically guess when I will fight against what tells me). The color screen is not very pleasant and very difficult to see at night. Connect IQ (customizable watch faces, widgets, etc.). I tried several, everything was ok. In short, it gives the average runner everything they need to train, race and look good (at least as good as a GPS watch will allow). I have to be behind it. Interval trainer, it's a must-have for walking/jogging/running, the beeps are loud enough that I can hear them through my headphones or through the DJ (running Disney events etc.) Smart notifications (shows emails, text and more on ) (alerts when connected to a compatible phone) Battery lasts about 5 days, with 4 training runs and notifications enabled Strap – Looks good, feels good. GPS - Works like a charm, fast sync (within 10 seconds). Tree lines were never a problem for this bad guy, great job Garmin! Garmin Connect - ideal for connecting to mapmyrun and others. The display, but I knew it wasn't as customizable as some would like, is from the Fenix 3, not for super runners or triathletes. I wish the group was a little bigger. Folks, this thing is a great little companion in your quest to become the best runner, runner/walker, or intermediate runner. Just get it. (Not a paid review like Rizknows) Take care and see you on the road.
