Not badly made but room for improvement

Overview and small hardware hack suggestion: This product is functionally identical to Sunlu's filament dryer with the same strengths and weaknesses. ABS handles the spool of filament very well and has some very functional rollers that ensure smooth feeding into the extruder. My main criticism is also for the Sunlu product that it competes with. None of them have any indication of the relative humidity inside. To correct this discrepancy, I used a small, fine-toothed jewelers saw to mount a small digital hygrometer to the front of the lid. This allows you to monitor the relative humidity inside the box and get an indirect, objective assessment of the condition of the filament. I found the results informative and somewhat counter-intuitive. However, once the box warmed to temperature, the relative humidity began to rise during the first hour and then began to fall again over the following hours of operation. This tells me that the temperature range chosen by the manufacturers appears to remove moisture from the printer's filament. The default timescale for this operation is probably sufficient in most cases. And that running the product blind (without a hygrometer) is likely to give satisfactory results in most cases. Cases. The product appears to work exactly as pictured and appears to be doing the job well. However, a hygrometer built into the box would be a valuable addition as it provides an objective way of confirming the condition of the filament. A built-in hygrometer in the control circuit allows the device to cycle based on actual conditions rather than a predictive model. Good product and I do not regret the purchase at all. works just as well and just like Sunlu's product, its competition has priced Sunlu's product into line with reality.
