This type of lock was recommended for my safe. I kept it there less than a month, it rained a little but the little lid fell on the keyhole and I thought everything was fine. I've only gone in and unlocked a few times. I recently found that there was water in it so rusty nasty water was leaking out of it and a broken little gold seal/O-ring came loose inside preventing it from moving. I had to leave my storage unit unlocked to go to the store and buy another brand, hopefully it will last more than a month.
