1st use good, return in 10 days

Bought them by accident. I wanted to get a set of 10 pieces Cephalon. But they were needed quickly so I had to use and keep them. At the same time, my father was brainwashed. So here is the review. I replaced a Cephalon set I got for my anniversary 14 years ago. The kids saw the Dawn dishwashing ads right after they used them and messed up all of my pans. They then used them on my ceramic stovetop and the shaking made my stovetop crackle. It's time to buy a new stove and pans. Pros: SUPER easy to clean (after they've cooled), mine is dishwasher safe - even after my daughter made homemade mac and cheese and burned the cheese, it was easy to clean. Love the size of the broiler, really doesn't need as much heat as I had with the Cephalon (even the newer Cephalon uses more heat), cooks evenly - no hot spots, made an omelette with no oil just to test - the das Cephalon stuck a bit, the cuisinart omelet immediately slipped off, the lids fit well and seal - the cephalon lids are a bit looser Cons - the lids heat up quickly. My daughter had a blister when trying to remove the lid on medium/low heat after only 2-3 minutes of cooking, Cephalon lids get slightly hot after half an hour of cooking on medium/high heat (Cephalon lids don't fit, I tried), the lids of both sets are very difficult to clean (kids boiled potatoes, pasta and sausages. Mostly because of the learning curve of how high/low the temperature should be compared to the old pots) and even after soaking they had to be washed three times to get the starch/film off. Both sets look great. There were no scratches or bent parts. All are happy. I'm not particularly excited about the lids getting so hot. One star deducted for that. But we have oven mitts, and up until 14 years ago all my lids were like that. I like the size and number of pans I got better than the Cephalon and overall I think they cook more evenly and faster at a much lower temperature. I used both sets first on my new stove and then on my dad's 10 year old stove. Same result - cuisinart simply cooks better. With very hot handles on the lids! Update - slightly scratch. My husband and children will no longer use them. He went out and bought them a cheap set of pots/pans. I don't have any metal utensils at home and just wash them with a soft cloth. There are scratches on the inside of each pot/pan I've used more than twice. Until it's gone far enough where the coating is peeling off. But scratches are visible on the coating. Cephalon pots/pans look new and have been used more than once. Downgraded from 4 to 2 stars. After less than 10 days of use, cuisinart is back. The plastic bushings that attach the lids' handles to the jar come loose even when the lids are unused. The pans I use regularly wear out more than my 14 year old Cephalon. If I could give stars I would.
