Review on 💻 TS-253D-4G 2 Bay NAS: Intel Celeron J4125 CPU with Two 2.5GbE Ports, Ideal for Professionals by Walter Hodzic

I would like to return this unit but unfortunately the disks took so long to ship that I was unable to return them. The NAS emits very loud beeps several times during startup (each beep represents a phase of its startup). It takes over 5 minutes to fully load, allowing me to load the login screen over the web. Registering the device on the network with my router takes more than a minute. Creating an empty RAID 5 with 4 HD took many hours to fully optimize the RAID 5 array even though there was nothing on it. My old NAS it replaces was quieter, booted up in less than a minute, and was able to rebuild a RAID 5 array in 1.5 hours, although my old NAS was still sold by WD and hadn't been updated in 6 years . This device is a great success for me. I would rather just use an external hard drive than this NAS.
