Review on Discontinued Canon EOS 50D DSLR Camera Body for Sale by Abhi Abhilasha ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I'm very happy with the product, it's very satisfying.

This is the first Canon camera that gave me mixed feelings and made me doubt the adequacy of gun marketers. I pre-ordered the Canon EOS R as soon as the opportunity arose, which means I was one of the first to receive the camera. I am professionally engaged in photography and the camera for me is a tool. I use 5DS R, Mark III, Phase One XF IQ3 80 in the studio. I needed a camera that I could take on trips and carry to events for fun. For me, it's the perfect second camera. So, in order: 1) The image quality is excellent, the same as the 5D Mark IV. There is a compressed RAW mode - this is the best option for trips, backstages, events. I have never shot at ISO above 6400, so there is no reason to swear at the noise. The dynamic range could be made wider - yes. Dual Pixel is a good thing, but so far Lightroom does not allow you to use it - it is practically useless. 2) The camera has very good ergonomics. As with any mirrorless camera, it’s not very convenient for me to shoot in the studio with it, but it’s more convenient than with Sony. In other conditions, the camera is excellent. On trips, I shot with outstretched arms, turning the screen down, and took selfies with my wife (fusk yu oifon). Shooting backstage, street, outdoor shooting with pulsed light is very good. I had to deal with the buttons and spend time in order to understand where and what to assign. Kamon, Canon, you get money for this work! Only the shutter button cannot be reassigned. And the question is: why is there a whole button to turn on the camera? 3) Camera focus is excellent. Focus is fast and accurate, the touch screen is very cool, focus points (over 5.5K). Focusing by zones and by eyes works well. 4) Video in Full HD shoots perfectly. Focus and tracking works great, color reproduction is good. 4K with crutches. I don't shoot videos much, and those who shoot professionally give a very high rating, if it's not about buying it.

Pros
  • Good ergonomics, swivel touch screen, normal digital viewfinder, excellent focusing system, excellent compatibility with EF lenses, color reproduction. Good shooting mode in CR3 (compressed RAW). Protection of the sensor from the external environment when the lens is removed (curtains). Gorgeous ultra quality lenses (at the same ultra price).
Cons
  • Dynamic range, noise at ISO over 6400, requires customization (reassignment and general assignment) of control buttons. Thick adapter for EF. No matrix stabilization. I don’t even need it, but Canon’s marketers were infuriated, saying that lens stabilization is enough. Are you seriously? There are almost no fast lenses with a stub from Canon, except for 35mm, 85mm and 200mm - the rest are at least 2,8 Karl! And a week after this announcement, Canon registers a patent for matrix stabilization. The price is at least $150 too high.
