Review on Discontinued Canon EOS 50D DSLR Camera Body for Sale by Virot Nuankeaw ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Beyond praise! The product definitely deserves your attention.

I rented it for one day to look at the work of autofocus for portrait shooting with fast lenses. Works great. Firstly, it works more accurately than the “reflex”, and secondly, it focuses throughout the frame (and not just where there are phase sensors like on Sony), so that they focus exactly on the place where the eye or face is located. And thirdly - there is no need for a focused - reframed mode, which leads to back focus. The photos in this review were taken at 50 / 1.4 at aperture 1.4, full frame and crop. In my opinion, it is simply impossible to focus on the focus better. And this shot is no exception, out of 500 shots taken with such accuracy, more than half were. The rest are worse because of the movement. If the face is occupied by more than half of the smaller side of the frame - finds both eyes, offers to choose, if more than a quarter - finds one. If less - finds only the face. If a full-length person occupies less than half of the smaller side, then the face is no longer found. In one review, they said that if focusing on the eyes is turned on and he does not find the eyes, the camera starts to get stupid. I didn't find it. I tried tracking autofocus in the mode a person goes to the photographer - it worked fine up to 4 meters, then I stopped having time to refocus. There was a setting on DSLRs - focus priority versus shooting speed priority - I didn’t find this slider here. Maybe they will add it to the firmware. Well, except for autofocus: - All buttons have been rearranged, you have to get used to it again. - The Fv mode is very convenient and understandable, I hope M, Av, Tv and P will be removed soon. In Fv, any of the ISO settings, shutter speed, aperture, and exposure compensation can either be set to auto or fixed to a specific value. Moreover, the reset in the car can be assigned to any button. - Yes, almost all buttons can be assigned any of ~30 actions, different for photos and videos - There is electronic stabilization for video, it works quite tolerably. - On a single battery charge, you can click a thousand frames, if you do not stare into the viewfinder for half an hour

Pros
  • autofocus Ergonomics, fits perfectly in the hand Fv mode
Cons
  • multi-function bar no rear wheel An incomprehensible situation with video - crop in 4K, no 120 fps in FullHD, only manual ISO>400 in Canon Log. Probably persuade videographers to buy Canon Cinema.
