Great for most but not spare drives

It has 4 ports that can be turned on or off. Your choice on each port. Remember that these 4 ports share the power coming out of the port they are connected to. DO NOT USE A SHARED PORT TO BACKUP YOUR COMPUTER TO A SEPARATE DRIVE. There is not enough performance to create a permanent backup. Connect the backup directly to the main port, not to the splitter. The rest of the splitter is just awesome! No problem.
