In combination with the fine sanding pad, this sanding disc works very well. But be careful. If the disc and pad hit something that folds the edge up, the hook and loop structure will be stretched and the disc will come loose and you will no longer be able to use that disc. If you fold the edge of the pad over a few times, the pad's hook structure will fail and the pad will not support a disc, old or new. The metal bracket that connects the pad to the engine block needs to be thicker to keep the pad from bending. I emailed Fein regarding this with no response. I bought a separate grinder because this mistake happened to me too many times. It's a shame because the Fein's low profile allows it to get under things while painting.
