All I really needed was a small kettle that could be heated on my table to make tea. However, there is one design feature that makes this device difficult to keep clean. In the middle of the lower part of the cabin there is a slightly separated metal platform, round and slightly elevated. I don't see any physical padding along the inside edge of this platform, which makes me wonder about the safety factor when water stays in the pot for an extended period of time. The "adjustable heating knob" doesn't actually get hot unless it's turned all the way up, which rather contradicts the idea that it's adjustable. I decided to slowly heat the jar of ready-to-eat chili since I had time. I turned the heat on to the lowest setting so there would be a water heating sound, then turned it off about every minute and it lasted an hour and a half. to heat the container. When I removed the microwave-safe plastic food container, I noticed that there was a ring on the metal plate. It was difficult to remove when cleaning. As indicated on the device, never apply kitchen cleaners, soaps, cloths or other slightly abrasive products to the metal plate!
