Review by: Cooler Master 80mm Sleeve Bearing Fan for Computer Cases and CPU Coolers Like almost all Dell computers, my old Dell T1600 PLEX file server has terrible cooling. Hard drives are bottom-to-front and don't have moving airflow to cool them, so they get hot, especially in the summer months. Nearly perfect for under-the-front-panel mounting, this fan has helped bring HDD temperatures down from 150Β°F to <110Β°F while beating PLEX as measured by Speedfan and Open Hardware Monitor. That's a huge difference, which clearly points to the dead air that was choking the discs. Note that these temperatures were taken in my cool office in January, so it will be interesting to look at the temperatures during the summer months. Now that there was dead air space in the computer, almost any fan could solve the problem. But I wanted the fan to be installed under the cover and there are few of those sizes. In any case, the narrow blades of this thin fan, only 15 mm thick, move a lot of air without making any noise. The computer sits on my desk next to me, so the fan is only a few feet from my ears and I can't hear it. I love this fan so much I have since installed it in front of a second computer with similar results. I would buy this fan again at any time and can only recommend it.
