This product worked great on my 2010 Chevy Silverado 1500 5.3L 4WD Truck. After watching a few YouTube videos, installation was easy. The two biggest problems with the installation were that I had to remove the o-ring from the old one to use it on the new one and there was no piece of tubing or clamps to reconnect the vent line to the ridge of the valve tubing. I decided to cut the vent hose to remove it and attached it to the new valve's fitting with a short piece of 3/4 inch heat shrink tubing. The adapter wiring harness was not required for my car. For the first time in years my check engine light won't come on. FYI the new solenoid's coil has a resistance of about 13 ohms while the original defective coil was open. Apparently GM uses the current flowing through the coil to determine the operating state of the solenoid valve. Also, the valve/canister was in front of the gas tank on the left side of the car. In some videos it can be seen on the right above the rear axle.
