I used their size chart but the coat was too small for my son. He's 11 so maybe small/younger fits better. He could pull it on, but his shoulders were hunched and the sleeves only came down to mid-forearms. (He's a beanstalk, so it's not a weight issue, and again, I used their size chart to find the right size.) The body was a good length - it went right over his butt. I can't speak to his warmth as he couldn't wear it.
